A Message From Our President

Dear Friends and Members,

Welcome! I am so excited to greet you as we embark on another season of growing, learning, and connection.

At Squamish Gardeners, we're more than a club – we're a tight-knit community united by our passion for gardening and our dedication to environmental stewardship. Through collaboration and education, we're cultivating a greener, more vibrant world, one plant at a time.

In the coming months, our club will continue to blossom with exciting events, educational speakers, and collaborative projects aimed at nurturing both our gardens and our connections with one another. From community clean-up efforts to our annual plant sale, every endeavour we undertake is a testament to our shared values and collective impact.

Keep Growing,

Gabriella Brass
President

Upcoming Speaker

Upcoming Speaker

Ryo Sugiyama
Curator, Nitobe Japanese Gardens

Ryo Sugiyama, curator of UBC's renowned Nitobe Memorial Garden, brings a wealth of expertise and passion to one of North America's finest traditional Japanese gardens. With a master's degree in landscape science from Chiba University and tutelage under a disciple of the garden's original designer, Sugiyama was destined to take on this role. His journey began in 2005 when he first visited the garden and met the previous curator, Junji Shinada, who later entrusted him with its care. As the sole gardener, Sugiyama meticulously preserves the garden’s authentic Japanese style, balancing tradition with the challenges of Vancouver’s unique climate. We’re so excited to welcome Ryo to Squamish Gardeners Club on October 21!

Our Sponsors

We’re so grateful to all our sponsors for their generous support. They provide discounts to Squamish Gardeners members up to 10% (*may not apply to all merchandise). Members must present their membership cards at purchase.
